When you visit Barcelona, the first name that will probably appear during your sightseeing research is Antoni Gaudí.

This amazing architect truly left his mark in Barcelona and each place is definitely worth a visit.

In this blog post, I want to introduce you to 5 of Gaudís mesmerizing works in Barcelona.

1. Sagrada Família

Imagine a huge church that started being built in 1882 and is still not finished!

That’s the Sagrada Família.

Although this truly breath-taking church is still under construction I have to say that it is definitely the most impressive church I have ever seen in my life.

The colorful lights that enter the church and the design inspired by nature (which is typical for Gaudí) give the whole place a dreamy and angelic flair.

Therefore, if you plan to visit Barcelona you MUST see this remarkable piece of architecture.

2. Park Güell

You might expect that as an architect Antoni Gaudí was only responsible for designing buildings and monuments.

But you are completely in the wrong!

Antoni Gaudí also designed a whole park in the middle of Barcelona called Park Güell.

Park Güell is like a magical garden on a hill.

Gaudí put colorful tiles, sculptures, and funky designs all over the place which creates an interesting balance between art, nature, and architecture.

If you enjoy being outside and taking a stroll or just would like to get away from the shopping streets then you should definitely check out Park Güell.

3. Casa Batlló

Although located on a fancy street called Passeig de Gràcia, Casa Batlló will definitely catch your eye.

The outside is wavy and colorful, making it stand out from all the other buildings.

Gaudí literally turned a regular house into something straight out of a storybook.

Also, the inside of the building is truly fascinating and magical.

So don’t miss out on this gem during your stay!

Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, is another Gaudí creation on Passeig de Gràcia.

The outside looks like it’s made of waves, and if you go to the rooftop, you’ll find weird yet incredible sculptures.

It is very convenient if you visit it together with Casa Batlló since it is basically only a few steps away down the road.

In the cool Gràcia neighborhood, there’s Casa Vicens.

This was Gaudí’s first important project, where you can also see his love for colors and details.

It’s like a colorful puzzle house that started Gaudí’s journey into making Barcelona extra special.

This place is great if you want to see the beginnings of Gaudís career and want to compare it with his latest work before his death.
